One mark, one teal, one typeface.

This is the whole system, written down. Restraint only holds if it is stated: what the mark is, how far the colour is allowed to go, and which moves we have decided not to make.

The mark

A connected L: two fitted shapes that read as a letter and as two parts of a system joined together. The wordmark is Manrope at 700, spaced by hand and outlined as paths. No gradient, no container, no underline — the mark carries the same restraint as everything it sits on.

The default. Header, footer, documents, anything on paper or white.

Using it

The proportions are fixed and the artwork already carries its own margin. Almost everything below is about leaving it alone.

At small sizes

  • 16 px
  • 24 px
  • 32 px
  • 48 px

The symbol is drawn to survive 16 pixels, which is where a favicon lives. Below that, use the wordmark or nothing.

Clear space

Keep the height of the symbol clear on all four sides, on top of the margin already inside the artwork. Nothing else sits in that space.

What not to do

  • Do not stretch or condense the lockup. The proportions are fixed.
  • Do not recolour individual letters or split the wordmark into two tones.
  • Do not reinstate the gradient, the pill container or the underline from the previous mark.
  • Do not put the dark cut on a dark ground. That is what the light cut is for.
  • Do not rebuild the wordmark by typing it in Manrope. The spacing is adjusted and the letters are outlined.

Colour

Warm paper, white and ink, charged by exactly one chromatic voice. Every value lives in a single stylesheet and reaches a component through a name that says what it is for rather than what it looks like — which is why a dark rendition would be a change to one file and nothing else.

Grounds and lines

What the page is made of. None of these carry text, so none of them need a contrast figure.

  • Selected and accented panels#eaf4f6--ld-tint
  • Hairlines between sections#e1e3df--ld-line

Text

Measured on every ground each tone is allowed to sit on. Muted is the floor: nothing lighter carries copy, ever.

The answer colour

Deep teal means the system is responding to you: hover, current, open, active. It has no decorative use. The logo's cyan stays in the logo — at 2.83:1 it cannot legally carry a focus ring, which is why the ring is a deepened cut of the same hue.

  • Hover, current, open, active#066b83--ld-deep5.85:1 on paper
  • Focus outline, 3px, nothing else#0092ad--focus-ring3.52:1 on paper
  • The logo only — never the interface#00a4c3--ld-cyan2.83:1 on paper — under the bar

Status

Two tones, and they carry meaning rather than decoration, so they survive a theme change. Colour is never the only thing saying what state something is in.

  • Settled#366958--status-done6.06:1 on paper

Type

Manrope does everything, from an 11px caption to an 86px headline. A second face — a serif for warmth, a mono for credibility — is the move this system refuses. Hierarchy comes from weight, from size, and from tracking that tightens as the type grows.

Labels are sentence case

Never tracked uppercase micro-caps. It is the clearest tell of the template this design refuses, and it costs legibility at exactly the size labels are set at.

Section headings.

Use

Section headings.

Not this

Every heading is checked in English and Latvian at four widths. Latvian runs twenty to thirty per cent longer, so a headline that balances in English can break badly in Latvian.

Shape, depth and motion

  • Seven radii, named for what they belong to rather than normalised to one house corner: 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, 14 and 20 pixels.
  • Depth is a hairline ring plus one long, diffuse bloom. No flat drop shadows, no shadow on the page ground, and never a card inside a card.
  • One transition and one keyframe, and the keyframe answers a click. No entrance animations, no scroll reveals, no hover lifts. Adding motion here is a regression, not an improvement.

Access

WCAG 2.2 AA is the floor, not the target, and it is held by the same script that holds the colour contract.

  • Body copy and placeholders clear 4.5:1, large text clears 3:1. The muted tone is the lightest thing that ever carries words.
  • Focus is a 3px outline offset by 4px, on everything a keyboard can reach.
  • Colour never carries meaning alone. Anything the teal marks is also current, open, or labelled in words.
